Artist in Residence
Finn Mott
Finn Mott is a 23-year-old acclaimed writer, comedian, and impact entrepreneur. An MFA candidate in Creative Writing at The New School, his work explores the intersections of trauma, illness, and grief, using writing and comedic reframing as vehicles for holistic recovery. Finn is the founder of Glint PB LLC, a trauma-informed venture that produces workshops, transformational retreats, and publications, including the sold-out Glint Notebook, to support individuals and organizations in building resilience through narrative. Their creative framework, Glint, will be featured in a performance at the Boston Trauma Conference as part of a Macreative, community-centered practice.
Outside the Lab:
When not in the lab or writing, Finn is on stage performing stand-up comedy across New York City and on international tours. They believe deeply in the power of laughter as a grounding practice and a tool for disruptive healing.
Research & Creative Interests
Finn’s work centers on the development and application of Glint Theory, which explores trauma, illness, and grief through writing, comedic reframing, and narrative therapy. Their interests include trauma-informed storytelling and stand-up comedy as modalities for community healing, advocacy, and public scholarship, as well as the intersection of social entrepreneurship, creative writing, and clinical psychology in developing accessible mental health interventions.
Current Projects
Finn is currently serving as Artist-in-Residence with The New School Psychology Department Trauma Lab, where they assist in editing academic papers and developing creative, trauma-informed workshops for lab partners. They are preparing a comedic and narrative performance on trauma for the Boston Trauma Conference in May 2026 as part of their Glint Theory & Performance work. In parallel, Finn maintains a comedy residency in New York City from 2024 to 2026 while headlining nationally and internationally. They are also an Entrepreneurial Fellow with The New School’s Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative, where they are scaling Glint PB LLC through facilitating workshops and planning retreats.
Publications & Presentations (Selected)
Finn Mott is the author of several poetry collections and publications, including How Not to Be a Bestseller (2024, Lethe Press), His Salt and Her Flower (Lethe Press), Viral (High Access Media), Call Me Disturbing (independent publication), and the Glint Notebook (Glint PB LLC), whose first print run sold out. Finn is also scheduled to appear as a featured performer at the Boston Trauma Conference in May 2026.
